Millstatt is on of the most historic and culturally important places on the lake. On the one hand, the townscape is characterized by historical “Habsburg Villas“ – built between 1875 and 1910 –and, on the other hand, by the Benedictine monastery with its renowned Last Judgement fresco and the twelfth century cloister. At the end of 2012, Carinthia's first bathhouse opened its gates next to the lido.
It offers its guests lake wellness all year round with exclusive views of Lake Millstätter See. „Mille Statuae“ is an art project, where artists from the entire Alpine-Adria-area create and display their statues in Millstatt. The annual Millstatt Music festivals completes the cultural offer of this fresh air resort town.
