The "Strobl-Alm" in Zödl am Laufenberg is a special spot for your exceptional holiday. 

One of our guests' favourite spots is the hand-carved larch table with bench under the old lime tree in front of the alpine hut.

It is a real place to recharge your batteries, with a fantastic panoramic view over the Nockberge mountains, the Brennsee lake and the Gegendtal valley to the magnificent Karawanken mountains on the horizon. 

You will be enchanted by the many different moods that nature presents you with every day up here. The occasional puffy cloud cover in the valley. A bright blue, cloudless sky as far as the horizon. A fantastic sunrise over the Nockalm in the east. Breathtakingly beautiful sunset over the Karawanken. Or an impressive starry sky with a sea of lights in the valley.

In the cozy farmhouse parlor, a cozy fire crackles in the wood stove. Next to the spacious corner bench with self-built dining table, the almost 100-year-old bed from the former Großglockner house invites you to chill out. The charming credenza, which we bought from a farmhouse in Burgenland last year, is certainly a gem and eye-catcher in the living room.

The food is particularly tasty when you cook it on the wood-fired hob. If you need to cook quickly, you can also prepare food quickly on the retro electric hob with integrated oven. Although we personally find food cooked on a wood-fired stove much tastier. You'll find plenty of crockery, pots and pans in the kitchen, as well as a filter coffee machine, a toaster and a kettle.

The fridge with freezer compartment, as well as the fresh spring water that is turned into hot water from the washing-up tap, are a real luxury for the 350-year-old Troadkastn.

Just like the new extension made of fragrant larch wood from our own forest, where you will find a shower with underfloor heating and a separate WC.

You will find plenty of space here with a cosy double bed made of oiled wild oak and the antique natural wood bed of my great-grandmother Theresia Strobl, the founder of the best bakery in Afritz, 20 km away.

For the sleepyheads, the window and balcony door have both loden curtains and wooden beams to darken the room. Then all you'll hear is the crickets chirping you to sleep.n the morning, a magnificent bird concert will lure you onto the balcony and you will be amazed at the fantastic view of the mountains and plants up here.

The cozy 100-year-old rocking chair in the room invites you to relax after a hike. While the chilled bench on the covered balcony is the ideal place to read on hot afternoons or in the mild summer rain.

The panoramic view of the Nockberge mountains, the Brennsee lake, the Kaiserburg castle and the Gegendtal valley is also unique from up here. And very often, luck presents you with a rainbow or even a double rainbow :)

In summer and on late summer days in fall, you'll love the large wooden terrace with its inviting snack table and stone slab barbecue. A pleasantly refreshing mountain breeze usually blows under the lime tree.

Another special feature that makes our retreat oasis so unique is Simon's self-carved wooden fountain with first-class drinking water quality from our own mountain spring. A fountain of youth and refreshing cooling on hot summer days.

Sun worshippers will find a windless spot smelling of fresh larch wood on the north-west side of the alpine hut with a view of the horse pasture.
